Benjamin Franklin Bowen, Jr., 85, of Montross, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016.
He was a member of Ephesus Christian Church, The Westmoreland Ruritan Club , Colonial Beach Masonic Lodge #199, and Westmoreland Royal Arch. After retirement from the U. S. Postal Service, he worked at Stratford Hall Plantation.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Bowen; son, Benjamin Franklin Bowen III (Gayle Wright); daughter, Elizabeth Bowen (Ronald Roberts); grandchilden, Krystal Myers, Tyler Bowen, Matthew Bowen, Michaela Jones, Jared Jones, Garrett Jones; step-grandchilden, Ryan Flynn, Tori Flynn, Logan Dodge, Abby Dodge, Ashton Wright and Chase Dodge; niece, Ellen Mothershead Martin and nephew, Gerald Mothershead (Susan).
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Ephesus Christian Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Welch Funeral Home, Montross, Virginia.
