Obituary for Ellen Williams Cooke
Ellen Williams Cooke, 76, of Lancaster, passed away on November 25, 2022. She was born on April 2, 1946 to the late Herbert E. Williams and Julia Bowen Williams.
Ellen was a member of Norwood Baptist Church in Lancaster. She also was a long-term Subway employee for 25 years and many customers would lovingly call her “Mrs. Subway” or “Mrs. Ellen”. Ellen was a hard worker but was a homebody at heart. Being at home made her happy. Ellen loved her family and her grand-dog Grady more than anything.
Ellen is survived by her daughter, Hope C. France (Robbie); grandson, Heath France (Ashley); great-grandson, Grafton Brock France; brother, Mark Williams (Peggy); sister, Esther Stevens; and nephews, Troy Elswick (Amanda) and Dylan Williams (Malina).
Ellen is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Garnett “Buddy” L. Cooke.
A memorial service will be held at Welcome Grove Baptist Church on December 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Willard Bowen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
