Obituary for Virginia Beale Pickering (Brooks)
Virginia Beale Pickering, age 83, of Warsaw, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 24, 2022. She was born on March 25, 1939 to the late Ernest Y. Brooks and Annie Laura English Brooks.
Virginia was known for the deep love she had for the town of Warsaw and supporting the community. She thought so much of the Richmond County YMCA, Warsaw Baptist Church, and Lowery's Restaurant. But most of all, Virginia loved her family - especially her beloved grandchildren.
Virginia is survived by her children, George Henry Pickering, Jr. (Padma) of Aldie, Virginia and Donna Pickering Shomo (Porter) of Ashburn, Virginia; and her grandchildren: Sean Pickering, Sarina Pickering, Sasha Pickering, William C. Shomo, and Samantha E. Shomo.
A graveside service will be held at Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery on December 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Leslie Park officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in loving memory of Virginia, to Warsaw Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, P. O. Box 576, Warsaw, VA 22572.
