James Mitchell “Jimmy” Angolia, 82, of Warsaw passed away after a brief illness on June 14, 2022. Jimmy was born in Warsaw to the late Willis Mitchell Angolia and the late Annie Estelle Davis Angolia. He was the beloved husband for 42 years of Cheryl Woolard Angolia. Together with his brother Wayne, Jimmy owned and operated and was a mechanic at Standard Garage, Inc. in Warsaw. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Warsaw.
Retired from a long career at the garage, Jimmy enjoyed his retirement with Cheryl. He always maintained his love for classic cars. He also loved John Wayne, western movies, classic country music and Dale Earnhardt. One of his and Cheryl’s favorite vacation spots was in the Smoky Mountains. Jimmy loved visiting Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and of course, Dollywood. Closer to home Jimmy enjoyed watching birds at the feeders he kept for them, particularly hummingbirds. He was a fun-loving person; a jokester with a real sense of humor and he will be missed.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife Cheryl; his stepchildren Randy Passagaluppi (Amy) and Robin Smith (Johnny Lewis); step-grandchildren Brooke Passagaluppi and Laura Passagaluppi; sister Brenda Goddin (G.W.); brother Wayne Angolia (Sandra); and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents.
A funeral service for Jimmy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the Welch Funeral Home Marks Chapel with the Reverend Willard Bowen officiating. Pallbearers will be Greg Woolard, Clay Woolard, Eric Woolard, Gil Goddin, and Larry Bridgman. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the visitation at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the St. John’s Episcopal Church Cemetery in Warsaw.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation in Jimmy’s loving memory to the Richmond County Fire Department – Station One, P.O. Box 626, Warsaw, VA 22572.
