Obituary for Beverly Lucille Mangan

Beverly Lucille Mangan, age 88, of Callao, passed away May 3, 2022. She was born on June 3, 1933 in Washington, D. C. Upon her marriage to Thomas John Mangan, she moved to Baltimore, Maryland where the couple raised their family. In 1985, Bev and John made the Northern Neck their home.

Bev was an active member of Henderson United Methodist and was the founder and manager of Henderson Happy Meals, an outreach program of the church. She was also the manager of the reception hall at Henderson. Bev retired as a training instructor for Verizon where she wrote training manuals and taught employees of the phone company, especially AT & T.

Bev loved community theater and was instrumental in all activities of the Westmoreland Players. Her favorite role was actress, but she also served the box office, as stage manager and in costuming. She was also the costumer for the National Champion Parade Majorettes and Drum Corp.

Bev is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Helen Green; her husband, Thomas Mangan; and a daughter, Donna Mangan.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol Martin and Tracy Kay-Griffin; grandchildren, Heather Trotman, Kathleen Martin, Christopher Martin, Julia Griffin, Leslie Griffin, Donielle Mulcahy, Quinn Hughes, and Ricky Fritz; and ten great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p. m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Henderson United Methodist Church.
