Obituary for Marietta Peyton Yeatman

Marietta Peyton Yeatman, lovingly known as “Nana”, of Warsaw, passed away on Monday, January 9th, 2023. She was born on June 29th, 1938 to WT Peyton and Annette Peyton. Marietta was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Yeatman Jr. and her brother, Tyler Peyton (Big Tyler). She was a lifetime member of Menokin Baptist Church where she played the organ for 60+ years. She spent nearly 50 years taking care of the Northern Neck community through her work as a registered nurse at Dr. Lloyd Griffith’s practice in Mt. Holly, Virginia. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her family, and always made sure to have Sunday lunch on the table for anyone that might stop by.

Marietta is survived by her two sons, Michael Yeatman (Sherry) and Robert Yeatman (Michelle); five grandchildren, Tyler Yeatman (Courtney), Wade Hudson (Chasity), Ryan Yeatman (Alex), Tucker Yeatman (Haley), and Taylor Yeatman; three great-grandchildren, Kallie, Harper, and Adley; a brother, Billy Peyton (Ann); a sister, Julia Mulqueen (Herb); numerous lifelong friends and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Menokin Baptist Church with the Reverend Doctor Jason Patrick officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Menokin Baptist Church.
