Obituary for Marie Elizabeth "Starr" Tillman (Zartman)
Marie Elizabeth “Starr” Tillman, of Heathsville, Virginia, age 62, passed on to her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. She was born on April 28, 1960 to Kenneth G. Zartman, Jr. and Marie Elizabeth Zartman and was the widow of Steve B. Tillman.
Throughout her entire life, Starr defined the meaning of her name. She shined through her disabilities and pain, and was always happy and smiling. Starr was grateful for everything and everyone that she had in life. She looked for the good in everyone she ever met and was an encouragement to everyone to be a better person; to be faithful and kind to every living thing.
Starr had many, many talents. She was a true artist in every aspect. All of Starr's artwork came from her heart and all of it was beautiful just as she was. Starr enjoyed drawing, painting, writing, crocheting, gardening, cooking, and making music. She loved the outdoors and all of God's creations. But more than anything, Starr loved her family and friends with all of her heart.
Starr is survived by her mother, Marie Zartman; son, Tyler; daughter, Dawn (Jesse); granddaughter, Braelyn; sisters: Midge (Jack); brothers, Kenny (Charlene) and Michael (Carrie); nieces: Nichol, Jenna, Beth, Mackenzie, and Christian; nephews, Michael and Geoff; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who she loved dearly.
Starr was preceded in death by her life-long best friend and husband of 42 years, Steve Tillman, just 26 days earlier. They were always side by side and now they will be together forever. Starr was loved so much and will be missed by so many. Starr's legacy will live on in all of the lives she has touched.
A memorial service will be held at Heathsville United Methodist Church on September 10, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. with pastor Corey McConville officiating.
