Obituary for Mary Leslie Penny
Mary Leslie Penny, age 78, of Farnham, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Herman Lee and Jennie Entsminger Leslie.
Mary attended Farnham Baptist Church but was active at many Baptist Churches in support of her husband, Pastor John Penny. She was a retired Administrative Assistant for the Missionary Learning Center of the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Mary loved reading and watching hummingbirds. She especially enjoyed cooking for her beloved family.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Pastor John Penny; sons, John Calvin Penny, IV (Peggy) and James Christopher Penny (Donna); grandchildren, Chris, Bryan, Tiffany, and Stephanie; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Herman, Roy and Ben; and a sister, Dorothy.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Cobham Park Baptist Church, with Pastors Keith Williams, Rodney Morrison, and Todd Brown officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
